STREET DOGS - IM STUDIO!
February 2, 2010 - Punk rock proponents for social justice, Street Dogs, have announced plans to return to the studio in February to record their fifth studio album and follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2008 Hellcat debut State of Grace. The band will be recording with bassist Johnny Rioux as producer and Rick Barton (original Dropkick Murphys guitarist) co-producing at the infamous punk rock studio the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado which was built by members of Descendents, All and Black Flag.
Punk rock runs deep in the veins of Street Dogs, with former Dropkick Murphys singer Mike McColgan´s uncompromising lyrics alongside bassist Johnny Rioux, guitarists Marcus Hollar and Tobe Bean III and drummer Paul Rucker´s fist pumping street punk anthems. The band burst onto the scene in 2002 and has released a string of classic albums including 2008´s State of Grace, which Mike Davies ? BBC radio called "the most raw, honest and punk rock record The Street Dogs have ever done".
After incessant tours around the world alongside bands like The Offspring, Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag, Reverend Horton Heat and headlining tours in US and UK in support of State of Grace, Street Dogs will enter the studio in February ready to shake the system and rally the people like never before on their fifth studio album.
"Every time we go into the studio we are trying to make our finest record," says McColgan. "So on February ninth when we enter the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado that is the goal to make our best record. Also this record will be more of a rabble rousing punk record than our previous records and have more of an edge and an attack on it. We will work to all of our strengths on this effort and we are very excited to have Rick Barton co-producing the record."
"Our next and fifth record will capture the purest form of the band to date," adds Rioux. "We are making it as if it were our first record. The punk and hardcore songs will be MORE punk and hardcore. Our Celtic influence and songs will be more Celtic, the folk, folkier and so on. It's almost as if we are making records in the reverse of most bands. Ending up back at square one, and square one never sounded better. Basically, we want to make our new favorite record."

THE AUTONOMADS aus Manchester/ UK sollten seit ihrer Europatour im letzten Sommer so einigen ein Begriff sein. Mit ihrer großartigen Mischung aus DUB und Punkrock konnten die 5 Engländer so manchen überzeugen und ließen Erinnerungen an Inner Terrestrials und Citizen Fish wieder aufleben. DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT, THE - OUR DAYS MIND THE TYME LP/ CD
Als Bad Afro Records 1996 das Licht der Welt erblickte, lag der Fokus auf der skandinavischen Rockszene und Bands wie den HELLACOPTERS, BABY WOODROSE, TURBONEGRO und THE FLAMING SIDEBURNS. Das änderte sich im Jahre 2009, als das Label zwei 7"s von nicht-skandinavischen Bands veröffentlichte. Nun folgt als nächster logischer Schritt die Veröffentlichung des ersten non-skandinavischen Albums: "Our Days Mind The Tyme". Dass Bad Afro vom Firmengrundsatz abwich, hat mit der bedingungslosen Liebe zum DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT zu tun, einer psychedelischen Folkband aus Australien. THE DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT gründeten sich im Jahr 2002 in Sydney. Der charismatische Bandleader Daniel Poulter schreibt wunderschöne Songs, unter deren Oberfläche sich zeigt, dass THE DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT einfach eine großartige Popband sind, die sich jedoch von allem anderen abhebt. "Our Days Mind The Tyme" ersteht aus den Einflüssen der psychedelischen Sixties, Sky Saxon, Arthur Lee und Syd Barrett und glänzt dabei wie die personfizierte Morgensonne. PLIMSOULS - LIVE! BEG, BORROW & STEAL – 1981 LP/ CD

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS SIGN WITH EPITAPH RECORDS
Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of US punk band OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. The punk road dogs recently took time off from touring to record their second full length album, with plans for a summer release.
Formed in 2002, Off With Their Heads went through a slew of musicians before finally cementing the lineup with Ryan Young on vocals/guitar, Justin Francis on drums, Zack Gontard on guitar and Robbie Swartwood on bass. Since their inception, the band has released an impressive catalog of music including seventeen 7”’s, one LP and a few comps, and has toured relentlessly in US, Europe, Canada and Japan for the past five years with bands like Against Me, Youth Brigade, The Bouncing Souls and Municipal Waste to name a few.
It was during Off With Their Heads’ 2009 tour with Against Me when the band got the call from Epitaph’s owner/president Brett Gurewitz saying that he was a fan of the band.
“Off With Their Heads might be the best punk band going right now,
Epitaph needs them; music needs them,” says Gurewitz. “I remember the first time I'd heard of Epitaph,” Young adds. “It was when I was in junior high and Rancid had just released Let’s Go. I saw the video, and immediately went and bought the record. I got into the compilations, and that started me on the road to finding all these great aggressive catchy punk bands. Living in a small farm town, I had never been exposed to this kind of music before, and from there I learned about punk. I guess you could say Epitaph was my gateway into everything that I would wind up becoming. For that reason alone, I am ecstatic to be a part of one of the biggest influences on my life.”
Off With Their Heads are well on their way to carving out their own punk rock story with their modern take on vintage punk fueled anthems. As the band begins the next chapter of their career they took the time to record their best album to date.
“We recorded our record in Minneapolis at a studio called The Terrarium,” says Young. “This is where most of the great sounding records that come out of town are recorded. I think the difference between this record and our last one is that we have enough time to make sure everything is tracked and mixed the way we would like it to be. We have never in 6 years had more than 2-3 days in a studio, and there have been parts on every recording that I'd wished we would have fixed and not used the old "good enough" excuse. The songs stylistically are a mix of something from every record, which is great.”When asked about the new music, Young says “it’s a good mix of driving aggression and also mid tempo pop. Those are our two strong suits, and I’m hoping they shine through as well as they have in the past. RESISTANCE - LORDS OF TORMENT CD
Die Extremmetaller RESISTANCE aus Belgien begannen bereits 2004 damit, sich Schritt für Schritt die Herrschaft in der Welt des Metal zu sichern. Was als Hardcore Band mit Metaleinflüssen begann, entwickelte sich nach einigen Umbesetzungen zu dem Biest des Death Metal, das uns jetzt direkt ins Gesicht faucht. Nach unzähligen Shows in Belgien und Frankreich veröffentlichten RESISTANCE 2006 ihr Debüt "Trauma", auf dem sie ihren Stil fanden und ihr musikalisches Schicksal in die Hand nahmen. Im Jahre 2008 wurde die Aggressionsschraube auf "Two Sides Of The Modern World" noch einmal fester gedreht, wobei hier auch intensivste Melodien ihren Weg in den brutalen Metal fanden. Death und Black Metal verzichteten jedoch noch immer nicht auf die Einflüsse des Hardcores. Abgemischt und gemastert von J-F Dagenias (KATAKLYSM, DESPISED ICON, MISERY INDEX) in Montreal ist "Lords Of Torment" der offizielle Startschuss zur RESISTANCE Europatour mit KATAKLYSM, BELHPEGO und DARKEST HOUR.
